About the Founder

Tori Kampmann is a heartfelt community builder, environmental steward, and creative advocate who believes that creativity is not a luxury—it's a fundamental part of being human. She is passionate about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, and inspired to learn, make, and grow together.

Over the years, Tori has dedicated herself to projects and organizations centered on community, environmental stewardship, education, and meaningful connection. Through these experiences, she began noticing a common thread: many adults long for a deeper sense of belonging, opportunities to create with their hands, and spaces where they can show up exactly as they are.

That realization inspired The Workshop Playground.

As the founder of The Workshop Playground, Tori is cultivating a welcoming third place where people can reconnect with their creativity, build practical skills, share knowledge, and form genuine relationships through making. Guided by her background in sociology and her belief that we are all teachers and all students, she designs experiences that are approachable, collaborative, and rooted in care.

A lifelong learner with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, creativity, and the natural world, Tori believes that creative expression has the power to strengthen our connection to ourselves, one another, and the places we call home. Through The Workshop Playground, she invites others to spend less time consuming and more time shaping—discovering confidence, purpose, and community along the way.
